About Chandraprabha Vati
Chandraprabha Vati ("moonlight pill") is a classical polyherbal-mineral formulation from Sharangdhar Samhita containing 37 ingredients including herbs, minerals (shilajit), salts and guggulu. The name refers to its traditional reputation for giving the face a moon-like glow through its systemic rejuvenative effect.
It is one of the most broadly prescribed classical vatis in clinical Ayurveda, with indications spanning urinary complaints (prameha, mutrakrichra), diabetes-related symptoms, male reproductive support (shukra-dhatu), female reproductive support, and general debility. The inclusion of shilajit, guggulu and loha-bhasma gives it a strong rasayana (rejuvenative) character.
Because it contains shuddha loha bhasma (purified iron calx), it should be sourced only from reputable classical manufacturers (Kottakkal, AVP, Dabur, Baidyanath) following Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India standards, and used under Chikitsak guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe — it contains bhasmas?
Classical bhasmas prepared per Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India are considered safe at prescribed doses when sourced from AYUSH-licensed manufacturers (Kottakkal, AVP, Dabur, Baidyanath). Never purchase from unverified sources.
Can I take it with metformin?
Often used alongside modern diabetes care, but discuss with both physicians. Monitor blood glucose more frequently during the first month.
How long can I take chandraprabha vati?
Typical protocols are 2–3 months with review. Continuous use >6 months should be supervised due to mineral content.
Does it help with UTI?
Traditionally used for mutrakrichra (dysuria), which overlaps with UTI symptoms. For active bacterial UTI, antibiotics remain the standard of care — chandraprabha vati is adjunct.
Can women take it?
Yes — it is traditionally indicated for both male and female reproductive wellness. Not in pregnancy.
