About Bala Taila
Bala Taila is a classical single-herb (or compound) oil built around bala (Sida cordifolia) — one of the most celebrated balya (strength-building) and vata-shamaka herbs in Ayurveda. Documented in Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya and Sahasrayoga.
Sesame oil is processed with bala root decoction and paste, sometimes also with milk. Multiple graded versions exist — simple Bala Taila, Mahabala Taila (added herbs), and Maha Mashabaladi (for advanced neurology).
Used for daurbalya (generalized weakness), post-illness recovery, neurological rehabilitation (stroke, facial palsy, Bell's palsy), chronic vata conditions, and traditionally prescribed for pediatric massage alongside Dhanwantaram.
