About Eladi Keram

Eladi Keram is a classical Kerala formulation — documented in Sahasrayoga — built around ela (cardamom) and other aromatic herbs processed in coconut oil (keram = coconut oil in Malayalam). The eladi gana of classical texts includes cardamom, nagkesara, cinnamon, cloves, and other fragrant pitta-shamaka herbs.

Indicated for allergic dermatitis, generalized itching (kandu), prickly heat, post-chickenpox scarring, and minor skin eruptions. Also used as a fragrant daily abhyanga oil in humid climates where heavier sesame-based oils feel uncomfortable.

The coconut base makes it especially suited for Kerala and other humid coastal climates. Gentle enough for pediatric use for diaper rash and heat rashes.

Good for body odor?

Yes — classical "surabhi" (fragrant) oil. Absorbs into skin leaving subtle aromatic note. Not a deodorant but gently masks.
