About Brahma Rasayana

Brahma Rasayana, documented in Charaka Samhita (Chikitsa Sthana, Rasayana Adhyaya), is a classical medhya rasayana (brain-rejuvenating preparation) built around brahmi and amla, processed with ghee, honey and dashamoola decoction. Named after Brahma — the creator — signifying its role in nourishing the highest faculties.

Traditionally given for medha (intellect), smruti (memory), ayus (longevity), ojas (vital essence), varna (complexion) and dhi (wisdom). Modern clinical contexts: age-related cognitive decline, convalescence, chronic stress with burnout, sustained intellectual work in students and professionals.

Unlike Chyawanprash which is primarily respiratory-immunity focused, Brahma Rasayana is cognitive-longevity focused. Both are "leha" (licks) and work over months — not days.
