About Amalaki Rasayana
Amalaki Rasayana is the simplest and among the most powerful classical rasayanas — documented in Charaka Samhita Chikitsa Sthana 1.3. Prepared through bhavana (trituration) of amla powder with fresh amla juice repeatedly (classically 21 times) to amplify the herb's bioactivity.
Amalaki is unique among herbs: five of the six tastes (missing only lavana/salt), naturally tridoshic, and the richest classical source of vitamin C in a heat-stable form. Charaka calls it the "best among rasayanas" (rasayananamshreshtha).
Clinically used for pitta-predominant aging (premature graying, skin dullness, acid complaints), antioxidant support, post-radiation/chemo convalescence, and as an immunity-longevity rasayana across life stages. Among the safest classical preparations — rarely contraindicated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amla powder vs Amalaki Rasayana — what's the difference?
Plain amla powder is the raw herb. Amalaki Rasayana undergoes 21 bhavanas (trituration cycles) with amla juice — concentrating bioactives and increasing potency. Classically considered pharmacologically distinct.
Best time to take it?
Before meals, twice daily. For pitta-shamana focus, morning on empty stomach with warm water.
Can I take it daily for years?
Yes — rasayana formulations are designed for long-term daily use. Amalaki has no known chronic toxicity.
Good for GERD / acidity?
Yes — amla is pitta-pacifying despite being sour. Its post-digestive effect (vipaka) is sweet, and it strengthens the mucosal lining.
