About Chandanadi Taila
Chandanadi Taila, documented in Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajya Ratnavali, is the classical pitta-shamaka (pitta-pacifying) oil built around white sandalwood (shwet chandan) with additional cooling herbs like usheera, manjistha, and lotus stamens processed in sesame oil.
Unlike vata-oils (Mahanarayan, Dhanwantaram) and trauma-oils (Murivenna), Chandanadi is cooling-focused. Traditionally used for pitta-predominant complaints: burning sensations, heat rashes, summer body odor, heat-induced insomnia, post-sunstroke recovery, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
Also used during panchakarma for pitta-dominated protocols (raktamokshana recovery, pittaja-shiroroga). A seasonal oil — more appropriate for summer abhyanga and in hot climates.
